CODE of DISCIPLINE

 

A. Types of Sanctions

1. Oral warning or reprimand
2. Written warning through the Violation Report which is a communication means to the parents who should sign and return it within three days
3. Ordinary Suspension –refraining from coming to school until further decisions.
4. Dropping – a school may drop from its roll during the school year or term, a student who is undesirable. The student who is dropped will be issued immediately his transfer credentials.
5. Expulsion from the school.

  

B. List of Offenses and Corresponding Sanctions

 1. Offense Category A:

The sanctions imposed for the commission of each of these offenses are:

1 st violation – Oral Warning
2 nd violation – Violation Report
3 rd violation – One-day suspension

  • Non-submission of letter of excuse required from absence or tardiness
  • Non-observance of deadlines of submission of report cards, reply slips, contacts, violation reports (VRs) and other official communication
  • Littering and Loitering
  • Shouting, inattention,  chewing gums, teasing, horse playing howling in class or along the corridors, library, during flag ceremony, meetings,  and other school activity.
  • Other similar offenses

 

 
2. Offense Category B:

1st violation – Violation Report
2nd violation – One-day suspension
3rd violation – Failed in conduct frequent unexcused tardiness (which includes)
after recess and lunch breaks and between periods)

  • Incomplete and improper use of school and PE uniform attire
  • Unauthorized haircut and hairstyling
  • Unexcused absenteeism
  • Breaking into or disrupting class and school functions
  • Using someone else’s ID
  • Using profane or indecent language/gesture
  • Other similar offenses

 

 3. Offense Category C:

1st violation-VR, 2 days suspension
2nd violation-Failed in Conduct/in the particular test
3rd violation-Exclusion

  • Cutting classes/Truancy
  • Bringing to school prohibited items such as cigarettes, intoxicating liquor, wine and beer.
  • Smoking within school premises or within the perimeter of the school, and during school sanctioned activity.
  • Cheating in any kind of test, possession of any kind of note relative to the test taken, looking at somebody’s paper, copying or allowing someone to copy from test papers, talking with out permission during a test or passing off as ones work or someone else’s project.
  • Leaving the campus without departure permit.
  • Forgery of parent’s, guardian’s, teacher’s or other school official’s signature.
  • Publishing or circulating false or malicious information about the school, a teacher or any school official or student.
  • Threatening, intimidating. Provoking or coercing any member of the school community
  • Unauthorized use of school’s and school official’s name for any purpose, such as to solicit funds or donation or hold unauthorized parties, balls, and other activities.
  • Fighting or inflicting injury upon any member of the school community, visitors, and guests.
  • Breaking or trespassing into school premises.
  • Gambling in any form inside the school premises.
  • Scandalous behavior that is contrary to norms of morality.
  • Possession, distribution, borrowing or lending immoral magazines, incident pictures or materials.
  • Using Profane or incident language/gesture
  • Vandalism
  • Other similar offenses

 

 4. Offense Category D:

1st violation - VR, one week suspension
2nd violation - Failed in conduct
3rd violation - Dismissal/Expulsion

  • Gross disrespect, disobedience, assault or abusive behavior toward school authorities, including refusal to submit to safety requirements such as search and seizure procedure.
  • Affiliation with an organization which is contrary to the school's philosophy, objectives, policies and rules, such as underground fraternities, sororities and associations.
  • Hazing, involvement in initiation practices
  • Possession, use or bringing on campus or into off campus activities of prohibited or regulated drugs, including, shabu, marijuana and alike.
  • Carrying or possession of any deadly weapon, explosive or ammunition including firecrackers and pillbox in the school premises
  • Vandalism or serious destruction of school property.
  • Extortion
  • Dishonesty such as stealing, malversation of class or school funds, cheating in personal dealing with other members of the community not returning found articles and other forms of dishonesty
  • Instigating, leading or participating in concerted activities leading to stoppage of classes
  • Commission of a crime inside or outside of the school related activities that a prima facie evidence exists in an appropriate criminal investigation by school authorities.
  • Coming to school and school-related activities under the influence of liquor, wine, and intoxicating drinks or prohibited drugs
  • Malicious mischief
  • Other similar offenses

The list/classification of offenses appearing herein are not all inclusive, therefore, students maybe noted disciplinary actions for offenses other than those listed here in above. Likewise, the school reserves the right to impose lighter to stiffer penalties for offenses committed depending on the attending circumstances of the case.

 

 C. Summary of Articles Prohibited in Campus

Articles which are hazards to the safety of others or which may interfere in some way with school procedures should not be brought into campus.

The following articles prohibited are:

  1. weapons of any kind (including Swiss knives and cutters)
  2. cigarettes/lighter/matches
  3. firecrackers
  4. alcoholic drinks, narcotics and other prohibited substances
  5. radio/cassette recorders/cd players (unless to be used as props/aid in lesson, practices and should be logged in at the Security Office)
  6. Mechanical and electronic games, etc.
  7. pornographic and other similar offensive reading materials
  8. Game cards and other items.
  9. hats(to avoid temptation and losses)
  10. mobile phones and beepers
  11. other items analogous to the aforementioned

The aforementioned items will be automatically confiscated and returned only after class hours (depending on the item)
